Toyota Etios overview- Toyota has recently launched it in Indian market. It was first unveiled in January 2010 at Delhi Auto expo. It is one of the small cars in Indian market which is also available in South America, Russia and other countries around the world. This sedan comes in 5 versions with 1 engine and 1 transmission options in Indian market. Models-Toyota Etios G, G Opt, Etios J, Etios V and Etios VX. The car is powered by 1496cc Petrol, Manual, and kpl. It is available in 7 different colours (Symphony Silver, White, Harmony Beige, Celestial Black, Vermilion Red and Serene Bluish Silver) in Indian market.
Swift Dzire overview- It is an entry level sedan from India's largest automaker Maruti Suzuki. It was launched on March 26 2008. This car is based on Swift platform and is a replacement for Esteem. It comes in 6 versions with 2 engine and 1 transmission options in Indian market. The car has already accepted by Indian customers. According to the company it is one of the successful models as per as sales is concerned.
Engine comparison- The Swift Dzire (petrol) is powered by 1197cc, 4-cylinder, 4-valves, DOHC, Petrol engine with 85 PS at 6000 rpm, 113 Nm at 4500 rpm and available in 5-speed manual. Toyota Etios comes with well refined 1.5 litre petrol engine that generates the power of 100bhp. So we can say, Etios is more powerful than Swift Dzire. Fuel Economy: Company claims close to 17 kmpl but will get the real figure when people start driving it while Dzire has maintained the good credibility over the years for fuel consumption and gives mileage close to 15 kmpl.
Interior comparison - Both the cars are unique in its interior features, it ultimately depends on individual taste. Etios has got lovely interior features like Internally Adjustable ORVM, Luggage Room Lamp, Leather Wrapped Steering Wheel, Passenger - Side Sun visor w/ Mirror, Day/Night inside Rear View Mirror, Chrome Accented Air Vents etc. Speedometer is placed in centre of dash board which is not pleasant at all.
Whereas Swift Dzire has also got some extraordinary interior features like stylish Tachometer, Trip meter (digital display), Illumination control, Fabric accented door trims, Interior light turn-on when door's central locking switch on, Trunk or luggage room lamp etc. Etios is better than Dzire as per as the space is concerned. Both the cars have Air Conditioner, Power Windows, Power Steering, Anti-Lock Braking System, Air-Bags (Driver | Passenger), Leather Seats and CD Player. But the upholstery quality is far better in Etios.
Exterior comparison- The Etios will dominates Dzire in exterior features. Etios is more sporty and aggressive looking sedan. It has got superb exterior features like tubeless tyres, neatly carved Body Coloured Bumpers, Intermittent Wiper, B Pillar Black-Out, Side Protection Molding Chrome Insert, Chrome Garnish on Boot, Front Grille Chrome Ornament etc and 12 Spoke Alloy Wheels adds beauty for it.
Whereas Dzire front look is very normal and nothing fancy about it. This sedan has also many exterior features like Tailgate opener, Key type, Body coloured bumpers, Body coloured door handles, Internally adjustable ORVM left and right, Rear window demister, Black coloured A&B pillars, Green tinted glass windows, Windscreen wiper, 2-speed +1-speed intermittent, Tubeless tyres and 185/70R14 alloy wheels.
Safety Comparison- Both the cars are equally good as per as safety features are concerned. Both the cars have Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Air-Bags (Driver | Passenger), Central locking system, EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution), Door Warning, Immobilizer, Keyless Entry, Driver Seatbelt Warning etc. The positive point for Dzire is that it comes in both petrol and diesel versions whereas Etios comes in only petrol version. The price tag of Etios starts with 5lakh and ends with 7lakh in Indian market. The price tag of Dzire starts with 4.96lakh and ends with 7.25lakh.
